Update: The winners have been selected and all three award winning videos were from students in Palm Beach County! They will be presenting the awards to the students on Monday, Feb. 23rd from 6:30-7:15 at the West Boynton Branch.
Check out the winning videos below:
Starting this past October, Florida high school students were invited to create a short promotional video for the Ask a Librarian virtual reference service, in order to increase awareness of the service (and to have a chance at winning valuable prizes, including a first place prize of a 40GB video camera!). Hopefully you saw the contest link on our webpage for the last few months.
The contest has been narrowed down to five finalists, and we need your vote to determine the winner. Please go to http://www.tblc.org/aal/directorschair/vote.shtml, to view the top five videos, and vote for your favorite one. The polls will be open through February 7th.
Ask a Librarian provides Florida residents with live virtual reference services from 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Librarians from 101 libraries around the state staff this online reference "desk," with staff from the Main Library here in Palm Beach County providing service on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Do you have a reference question, or want to see how the service works? Visit the link on our library website, athttp://www.pbclibrary.org/aal.htm
