An Everglades hammock campsite is
depicted in this exhibit. The male Seminole wears a typical
tunic ("big shirt") once common male clothing worn with or
without leggings or trousers. This tunic was presented to Lawrence
E. Will by Chief Billy Bowlegs, the Third, last Chief of
the Seminole Nation. This exhibit is a community project:
The tunic accouterments derive from Paul Orsenigo's
Eagle Scout "Order of the Arrow" Regalia. The
Bobcat was mounted by Troy Tyler. The Wall Mural
was designed and painted by Belle Glade artist Ann Spann Tyler.
The terrain was created by Jane Schoenfeld, Dorinda
Shutts, and Ann Spann Tyler. The typical
"Pine Lighterwood" campfire wheel was collected from the
"Big Cypress" area by Joseph R. Orsenigo. The exhibit was designed, built,
assembled, and finished by: West Technical Education Center.
