General Sites

ChemIDplus
A National Library of Medicine database of over 380,000 chemicals, synonyms, structures, regulatory list information, and links to other databases.
  MadSci Network
A useful guide for tracking done science fair projects.
Miami Museum of Science
This site is specifically directed towards elementary and middle school children, with easy to follow icons for quick navigation. Students will enjoy the opportunity to create projects, such as making a hurricane spiral by printing a page with colored cut-outs.
  NASA Homepage
The central location for all things aeronautical, astrophysical and space-research related as it pertains to the United States space program.
NASA Earth Observatory
Find stunning satellite imagery and scientific information about climate, oceans, and life on Earth in this educational web site from NASA.
  NASA Human Spaceflight
A smaller NASA maintained site dedicated to space shuttle missions and ongoing developments involving the International Space Station.
National Geographic
National Geographic Society is the world’s largest nonprofit scientific and educational organization. It publishes the famous magazine of the same name.
  National Science Foundation
An independent US government agency responsible for promoting science and engineering through programs and education projects in science and engineering.
NOAA Hurricane Center in Miami
It has weather updates every three hours, and an archive of past hurricane seasons dating back to 1958. Satellite images are updated every hour, and tropical weather updates are available by email. This website contains useful background information on hurricanes, including the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale, and a comprehensive glossary of weather terms.
  NOAA Storm Prediction Center
Find up-to-date information on developing storms across the country.
Science Made Simple
A comprehensive site dedicated to all of the younger science enthusiasts.  Science Made Simple helps children learn science through fun projects and great experiments using ordinary household materials. Just don't forget to wear your goggles!
  Science.gov
Science.gov is a gateway to authoritative selected science information provided by U.S. Government agencies, including research and development results.
SETI Online
The Search for Extra Terrestrial Life Institute page is the central location for project news, updates and encouragement to those people and projects related to this monumental endeavor.
  South Florida Science Museum
Located in West Palm Beach, the South Florida Science Museum is a fun place to explore science hands-on.  It also offers laser shows and a planetarium.
Space.com
The definitive site on the web dedicated to space and all space-related subjects.  It focuses on launch schedules, news, education and entertainment.  Not just NASA info, but inclusive of everyone dabbling in space exploration is included.
  Tornado Project
Find out all about tornadoes in this unique web site.
Weatherbase
Use this site to find worldwide weather records and averages and other historical weather data.
  WebElements Periodic Table
For a more inclusive Periodic table designed with both the chemistry student and professional in mind, try the University of Sheffield's (UK) great site.

Math.com is dedicated to providing ways for students, parents, teachers, and everyone to learn math. It offers exploratory and recreational introductions to the world of math that will lead to deeper understanding and enjoyment.

It provides resources, materials, activities, person-to-person interactions, and educational products and services that enrich and support teaching and learning.

History of Inventions
A fun guide from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation highlighting important inventions from the wheel to the Internet.
  How Products Are Made
Explains and details the manufacturing process of a wide variety of products, from daily household items to complicated electronic equipment and heavy machinery. The site provides step by step descriptions of the assembly and the manufacturing process (complemented with illustrations and diagrams)
How Stuff Works
Marshall Brain's great site dedicated to describing everything works.  Currently with 1000's of entries, the site contains animation, cut-away graphics and detailed information on everything from sunglasses to nuclear reactors.
  Inventors and Inventing
A short, factual guide to famous inventors and their inventions.
Museum of Ancient Inventions
Supplied by Smith College, this site provides detailed information about a vast array of items invented by the ancients, including ceramics, arches, and even a battery.
