and you'll find books (print, recorded and downloadable), magazines, newspapers, DVDs,
music CDs and information experts.
In Fiscal Year 2009 (Oct. 08-Sept. 09) the Palm Beach County Library System:

Circulated over 8.3 million items;

Answered over 2 million questions;

Welcomed over 66,000 new cardholders;

Presented over 6,900 children’s programs with an attendance of over 184,000 kids;

Hosted 1,335 programs attended by over 27,000 adults.

Counted over 8.2 million hits to our web site;

Trained over 10,000 adults in our computer and Internet usage classes;

Signed up over 900,000 people who used our computers;

Had 161 Adult Literacy students log over 11,000 hours learning to read;

Thanked our volunteers for giving over 31,000 hours to the help the Library System.

The Palm Beach County
Library System was established in 1967. Today, the County Library
System serves Palm Beach County through the
Main Library, 14 Branch Libraries, a
Bookmobile and a Library Annex. The Palm Beach County
Library System continues to expand through our involvement with library networks, the
Internet, and the World Wide Web. |
